Biking to Binh Lu

You will commence on the trip from Sapa going uphill to the Silver Waterfall. From here you will cycle up to Heavens Gate, the highest stretch of road in Vietnam. Here you will experience the stunning views across the valley. You will then travel by bicycle downhill to Binh Lu, where you will have lunch. In Binh Lu you will be able to visit the local market. From Binh Lu it is also possible to take one additional hour on the bike and one hour of walking to visit a remote village inhabited by the Red Dao minority. After a long day of activity, adventure and of course a fantastic nature experience it is time for the car to take you back to Sapa.

Your ride will be mostly downhill through the outskirts of Sapa. You pass by Sapa town before heading downhill to the Taphin village. In Taphin you will witness the daily life in the villages and communities of the Red Dao and Black Hmong minorities. You will also have time to take a short walk around the village. At the end of the trip, you will transported back to Sapa by car.

Approx: 30 minutes driving/ 3 hours cycling.

Note: It is possible to cycle all the way from and back to Sapa on a good road if you wish. A supply car will be provided.

Continue walking 2 hours to visit the Zay minority at Ta van where the jeep will be waiting to transfer 12 km long. Spend time to enjoy the picturesque scenery along the way , a mountainous area of stunning natural beauty and diverse ethnic minorities. We trek down the hill, enjoy the fantastic open views in Ban Ho the most beautiful valley in which we spent a night on the bamboo house of Tay people. In the afternoon go for a swim in the natural fresh pool near the waterfall.

We will trek up to Nam Toong, Nam Ken village of Red Zdao & Xa pho tribes. Lunch in Thanh phu then trekking to Ban ho where you will return to Sapa By Jeep.

Trekking to Ban Ho Village

You will start early heading uphill to Tram Ton Pass by car, where you will make a stop and enjoy the views from atop the pass. From there, you will then drive downhill on the zigzag mountain paved road to Tam Duong. Upon arrival in Tam Duong, the car turn into a dirt road which leads to Duy Phong, where the walk start. You will follow tea fields to a viewpoint from where you have a fantastic view down to the valley. The area you are walking in this morning is a wide valley, spotted with limestone hills wherever you look. You will pass through several villages of Flower Hmong and Giay minorities where you can stop for lunch in local house.
After lunch you continue towards the village of Ban Giang, which is around 1.5 hours away. The Giay people also inhabit Ban Giang. You will then follow a small but good trail to the Lu village of Ban Hon, where you will stay overnight in a local house. You will enjoy dinner in the house, and taste, together with the family of the house, how rice wine tastes in this area of Vietnam.

You wake up to the sound of pigs, chickens and dogs. The family is already preparing for today’s work. Today’s walk will be a few hours shorter than yesterday, passing some other Giay and Lu ethnic minority villages, but still the surrounding landscape will be magnificent. After having lunch at a beautiful spot next to a small river, you will arrive in Binh Lu, where the car is waiting to transfer you back to Sapa. You will have the opportunity to have a break at the famous Heavens Gate and Silver Waterfall, before arriving in Sapa in the afternoon.

After lunch, the trek will continue by going downhill toward Taphin village where you can meet Red Dao and Black Hmong minorities, two largest ethnic groups in Sapa. Your guide will tell you about daily life and tradition of these two people. Here you stay overnight in local house. You will be able to take a walk around the village while your guide prepares dinner

After lunch, you take a walk under the shadow of pine trees as well as a short walk from side to side of the town of Sapa. Check in the hotel. Dinner at the local restaurant. Overnight at your chosen hotel in Sapa.

You start the trek today by walking downhill toward the My Son village, which belongs to the Xafo ethnic minority, one of the smallest group’s ethnic in Northern Vietnam. After one and a half hours walk to the Red Dao village of Nam Toong, lunch will be prepared and served. After lunch you will descend back to Ban Ho village, where you will be able to enjoy a swim at the nearby beautiful waterfall of La Vie. You will then ascend to Su Pan, where the car is waiting to take you back to Sapa.

You eventually arrive in Y Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can take a rest while you are served lunch nearby the river.
After lunch, you head Muong Hoa valley. You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route. You will spend the night in local house of Giay minority. You will be able to take a walk to enjoy the valley view as well as swim in the river nearby.
Approx: 5 hours trekking/ 1 hour lunch.

You will find a nice place to enjoy lunch. After lunch, you continue toward Su Pan, a small village located by the road. Here you start your journey back to Sapa by car.
